Recs if you like Mother of Learning: ARC 1...

books featuring or set in magic schools / universities / academies, aka, one of the best subgenres in existence !

this list has books for all ages (am actively looking for more adult options), most of the books are dark academia, and ALL of them are fantastical 🪄 recs welcome <3

(alternatively, books to fall in love with & share with others to help avoid supporting or promoting JKR. i will never shut up ab how the Nevermoor series deserves the popularity that Harry Potter enjoys !)

Do you love stories that take place or revolve around magic academies/classes that aren't written by a TERF and aphobic author? Well, do I have the book list for you!

The top 100 fantasy novels according to the r/fantasy list as voted on by the community - this includes series (represented by the first book in the series) and standalones.

The list is in order with Middle Earth ( represented by Lord of the rings) being number 1 going down to the 100th.

(Note: Mistborn is position 8 while Cosmere is position 35 - as Mistborn is within the Cosmere I lumped it in with the 35th position so it is lower down than on the original list)

Books that involve time loops of some kind. These will not include 'normal' time travel, and mostly focus on books that repeat the same stretch of time

Love them or hate them, these books have spiders that are sentient in some capacity. Eight legged creatures that are more than a normal arachnid! They might be able to talk. They definitely can think beyond what a spider should.

Books are a mix of genres mostly fantasy, sci-fi and horror. Recs welcome!

Books. I found these on Royal Road first, and maybe you did too. Please comment if you have any recs you'd like to share 👍🏾 (any genre, not just LitRPGs 😅)

Progression Fantasy books with a sprinkle of found family

LitRPGs and progression fantasies beyond just DCC, covering traditional, xianxia, isekai, and everything in between. Great for readers who are either dipping their toes into the genre or those who are looking for something new. Find something that brings all your apocalyptic fantasies to life. Note: will only include the first book in series, as many series are extremely long.
