Recs if you like The Simulacra...

dystopian novels or short stories (if you have suggestions or think there are mistakes please let me know!)

edit: a dystopian book describes an undesirable society, and contains themes of oppression perpetrated by a tyrannical government. It is different from post-apocalyptic books (like The Road), which can contain similar themes, but lack the social commentary about living in fear of the government, lack of individualisation, propaganda, etc.

Enter the dizzying mind of Philip K. Dick, one of the most prolific and impactful science fiction writers of all time; explore paranoia, grief, mind-altering substances, the nature of existence and what defines our humanity, distinguishes us from ersatz counterfeits, and altered and simulated realities warped by technology and drugs.

Science fiction books in english published between 1960 and 1969 (going by when it was published as a book, generally).
