These are books that involve a truth, a secret society, a government agency, an underground bureaucracy that is just out of reach of the average citizen. The ratio of fantasy to reality is oddly specific here, as well as a specific fantastical/romantic/dreamy vibe. Not all urban fantasy fits the brief, but most books will have urban fantasy elements. Definitely taking recs!!

sometimes forgetting is for the best, but sometimes it definitely isnt and might leave you in quite a pickle.

Fantasy set (mainly) in (a version of) London

Multiple or dissociated selves/minds, one body. Intentionally and unintentionally written. (Mainly what I found relatable. Excluded stories where it's a reveal.) I try to avoid books where the plurality is treated as an inherent problem or evil, though the plurality may be involved in problems to overcome.

This is a list of books that at least one person thinks you should read. A book that, no matter who you are, is worth giving a try. Out there in the world, this is someone's favourite book.
