The Five Minute Mistake (West Oaks Heroes #2)

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

He's my instructor. He's off limits. And he's the twist I never saw coming. On paper, Nash Jennings is intimidating as hell. Former Navy SEAL, notorious loner, and the grumpiest sniper on the West Oaks SWAT team. But I don't buy it. I think he's actually a nice guy under that armor he wears, and I'm determined to draw him out. Make him my friend. Perhaps even make him smile. What could go wrong? More than I ever imagined. I might seem like the girl next door, but I'm a cop, and I’m not afraid of anything. Except maybe that look of shock on Nash's face, right after I kiss him. Oops. But it gets so much worse. Because one little mistake can lead to a chain reaction. Into greater danger than either of us could expect. Five minutes is enough to change our futures forever. One kiss will put everything—even our lives—at risk. An age-gap, single dad romance with swoon, action, suspense and steam!

Nash and Shelby are the perfect match for each other even though they have a push/pull relationship where they know they shouldn't but also can't deny the attraction. The first time Nash tries to hang out with the team he is working with as their SWAT instructor he and Shelby stumble across what they think is a serial killer in action where neither escapes unscathed. Things don't sit right after what happens and Nash and Shelby lead us on a race to figure out the truth behind the Midnight Slasher where there are heart stopping moments, undeniable attraction as well as some good laughs, danger along with more questions then answers and some great twists ending in a HEA.
