This list is a community project, I asked in the club and received multiple suggestions which I then added onto a list: fiction and nonfiction, fantasy, contemporary, sci-fi, the main theme is just hope. Some people said their recommendation might not fit very well but I added it anyways.

Also, in the og post, I mentioned The Good Place and if people have recommendations tending to that, so some books are related to that.

There is this small part of the book space with the stories of people who find the meaning of their life or mess others up because they don't care anymore. I'm a fan of his narration of Bram Stoker's Dracula and wanted to compile a list of more books narrated by him. He has a smooth English accent, lighter tone for feminine characters, and distinct variations with other UK/European accents.

Fun Fact: He's been an audiobook narrator since age 6, when he did a reading of Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne!

It's stupidly hard to find books with older characters, but we've done our best to put together a list of queer books with older characters (we aimed for 65+ but not all books specify and ymmv on your estimate of the age of some of these folks). Happy reading! (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)
