    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

I just like crying all morning into my coffee while reading. This was super problematic, the hero is NOT good and is an asshole, but I ate it up while going through 10 tissues worth of tears.

This is the one with Mira and Beau. Mira is 22, raising her niece after her sister dies. Beau didn’t know he had a kid, but is more than willing to figure out how to be a dad. He’s super horny for Mira, but knows he should leave her alone. Does he? Nope. And like most books by this author, there’s other woman drama, mean mom, a huge fuck up by the hero. This one does have a good grovel, but I’m not sure it’s enough.

Read the trigger warnings and take care. Thanks to the author for putting them at the beginning of the book and at the chapters with sensitive content. She also included links to resources for readers.

Mira was sexually abused by her father as a child and no one believed her. She has a bus load of trauma. Beau believes her parents when they provide (fake) evidence she hurt the baby and instead of asking her ANY questions, he kicks her out. It’s fucking awful.

Mira attempts suicide, and then absolutely shuts down. Beau does find out he was lied to and feels like the giant jackass that he is, but it’s too late. It takes months for Mira to even talk to him (good).

Anyway, rough read but I enjoyed a good cry.
