Crossed Souls (Twisted Soul Magic #1)

I’m perfectly normal… or at least I was. Until my twenty-first birthday. Until a power I had no idea existed inside of me unlocked. Until I became the magical community’s most coveted prize. Now instead of running my magic shop, I’m fulfilling my life’s purpose while trying not to get captured. If it wasn’t for my self-appointed guardians, I wouldn’t have even made it this far. They may not have asked for this either, but the whole town’s afraid of Knox, Hiro’s suspicious of everything (including me), Crew’s power is as legendary as mine, and Ever is our leader… who’s keeping a secret of his own. With the four of them by my side, I might just stand a chance of getting out of this alive. See, Soul Magic has been dead for centuries. It shouldn’t exist anymore, long forgotten like a fairy tale warped and twisted in time. Except it does exist—in me. My name is Willa Toussaint and I’m the last Soul Mage alive. Whether I’m ready or not, my enemies are coming to steal my birthright, black spellwork thickens the air, and I’ve never been more terrified. There’s only one thing left to do—survive. PLEASE NOTE: The heroine in this story will end up with more than one love interest and will never choose between them. This is book one in a five book series and will end on a cliffhanger.

I liked Willa - she has her own magic shop, she’s sweet, and she helps others. Then her birthday comes and she suddenly has some new powers and 4 guys that are interested. The guys are protective - a little too much at times, basically making the decisions and leaving her back for her safety. On Willa’s part, at times she makes some TSTL decisions - escpecially at the end. There is a cliffhanger. I liked the series enough that I will be checking out book 2.
