The story revolves around three childhood friends, Yohei, Kei, and Yui, who are reunited in high school. What appeared to be a straightforward love triangle between two boys and a girl takes an unexpected turn when Kei shows up looking and dressed like a girl. Suddenly, Yohei is thrown into a maelstrom as he struggles between his infatuation with Yui and his lust for Kei. In this story of adolescent awakening, perversion, and love, Oshimi takes a bold approach and sets out to explore the boundaries of gender, sexuality, and identity.

I like Shuzo Oshimi's thoughts on identity and sexuality. I've never read his horror series'. I started with Flowers of Evil and then Inside Mari. I love them both for their openness of perversion, sex, romance and identity. Welcome Back, Alice though, yeah I like things that make me feel icky but I draw the line at manipulative predators. Not a good look with the terrible rumors surrounding trans women these days.

Weirder than blood on the tracks already? The end where Shuzo Oshimi talks about some of the inspo has me curious, but I’m also super repulsed and curious from this ones contents already.
