Okay, there is a LOT going on with this book and I’m not going to give too much of a summary, because I don’t want to spoil anything! Absinthe, Torpedo Ink MC member, has been lusting over Scarlet, a librarian from a local town. Absinthe knows Scarlet isn’t what she seems, but he wants to try to get to know her on his own before he brings his club in. Scarlet has been fantasizing over Absinthe since he started coming into the library, but is not in a place to be in any kind of a relationship. Her path has been the path of revenge and any relationship she has immediately puts the other person in harm's way.
This entire book series is bonkers and I have a really strange relationship with the whole series. All of the books can get pretty dark, so I know I need to be in a certain mindset before I read one. The last book in the series really bothered me, but I am so invested in the characters in these books that I literally cannot stop this series! I really liked this book a lot. Absinthe and Scarlet really are fated mates and I’m starting to wonder how much the MC’s psychic powers are leading them to the right matches.
It’s due diligence to give a warning, because the kink in this book is not going to be for everyone. It’s around page 240 where my eyeballs became saucers and I immediately messaged a fellow bookstagramer, because I just needed someone to know what the hell I was reading!
Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but I will warn you, there is a storyline that is happening through the entire series along with what happens with each couple and the members in each book. I would highly recommend the whole series, but warn that it’s not for everyone! Personally, I can’t wait to read the next one!
