inspired by both shanspeare’s video essay on the topic and also by my sheer adoration of this niche genre of books! vampires and other monsters are also included in this category.

I found this list of vampire novels at the back of the Penguin Book of Vampire Stories from 1987. It's interesting to see how many of these have been remembered and how many were forgotten. (For series, I only included the first book)

A maxi list of all the super disturbing romance and coming of age feminine rage and supressed desire novels that get their creep on with vampires or cannibalism, I have loved or are on my TBR.

Just a note: House of Hollow has no munchies but it fits this vibe really well and it's one of my favourite books of all time and in the first chapter someone cuts off a peice of hair and eats it so...
