Recs if you like Espíritu ...

JK Rowling is a bigot who uses her platform to hurt transfolks and other marginalized groups (plus she literally just quoted Mein Kampf on the bird site). If you're still supporting her in 2025, don't bother talking to me.

We should all be reading queer, all year, but this list is full of upcoming queer books of all makes and models coming out in 2026. If you have a rec to add, just please keep in mind we’re looking for 2026 releases!

Some books I either love or am super excited to read that are queer, BIPOC, and have some kind of speculative element (fantasy, sci fi, paranormal, etc)

Duologies. Duologies! A list full of duologies. This has a collection of titles I'm interested in and some recommended to me. To save you the trouble, I made sure to put both books in a duology in this list. Enjoy! 💐

Exactly what it says on the tin: queer stories that also have ghosts.

Recommendations welcome! Also, I have not read all so if some are misplaced, let me know!

Every year we get more and more queer books in more and more diverse genres and I for one would like to roll around in all of them from sheer joy 🙂‍↕️ since I can’t do that here is a list to metaphorically roll around in instead.

Disclaimer: all books had 2026 releases at the time of adding. The publishing industry does change things around though.

I’ve not read all so if some are misplaced, let me know!! Also, recommendations are welcomed!

Fantasy books where the elements are not the primary source for their magic/superpowers.

All kinds of Queer Fantasy by BIPOC authors.

Recommendations and Requests welcome

What it says on the tin. I've heard truly excellent things about all of these, so maybe give them a try if you haven't yet?

Featuring books from different mythologies, some were invented by the authors and some are inspired by mythologies around the world! Some are fiction some non fiction! I haven’t read all, so if some are misplaced, you can say it! Also, I’m open for recommendations! This list also includes legends!

the queer romance and fantasy books that are on my tbr (and that i love)

a definitely not exhaustive list of books containing ghosts, ghost hunters (professional and amateur) and those that can see them/are haunted by them. this list contains middle grade, YA and adult fiction.
