i thought this story was very interesting. we only saw a little bit of the baking show which was okay because i’m not sure where the plot would have gone if the baking show had more appearances in the story.

our hero is dead set on marrying and impregnating the heroine as soon as he lays eyes on her. he was suspended from playing hockey for a little while because of a fight he participated in and to make everything smooth out his assistant makes him one of the judges at a baking show where he meets the heroine. every contestant on the baking show was set up by their friends or family members so they will be embarrassed on tv. the heroine was set up by her coworkers (she’s a dancer in Las Vegas) her ‘friends’ were jealous of her since she received a promotion and they didn’t so they set her up.

we see some push away from the heroine. her boss from las vegas “owns her” (not sexually but in the work related aspect) and makes the heroine dependent on him for money. he makes threats against her parents so we can see why she was pushing away the hero.

i won’t give every detail of the story because i know some people don’t like spoilers lol

this would be a 5 star read but i’m it had a light daddy kink and personally i’m not into that:) it wasn’t overbearing but it was there. hero is rough when they have sex and there is slight degradation (i think he calls her his fuck toy a few times) when they first have sex he is a little rough and i’ll attach the quotes he said after he takes her virginity.

“You like when I’m rough with you, Lola? You like being my hot little fuck toy?”

“I’ll give you that, as long as you remember some things, all right”

“While I’m fucking you like a dog in heat, understand this: I’ve been given no greater privilege in my life than being inside you. You giving me that cherry?
