Recs if you like Rainbow Black...

every struggled to find actual lesbian/sapphic books when at the library or bookstore? so did I!

bc of said struggle, I started to curate a personal list of books that either has lesbian MCs and/or featured a primary sapphic romance.

i haven't read all of these, but I do try my diligence in confirming that they meet the above perimeters, since many books claim to be sapphic when they're not. this is an ever updating list, only fiction for now!

for those who don't conform to the norm.

I've participated in the Trans Rights Readathon the last couple of years and these are all the books I've read and would recommend (either during the readathon or the rest of the year)! 🫶

some of the rep here is found in side characters, but I'm trying to prioritize main character rep as much as possible!

Not necessarily trans, but may feel trans, have a trans author, trans allegories, you get the picture. I haven't read a lot in my adult life, so this may be for those boys too who haven't. Definitely open to suggestions to add to the list!

Goes with my bookstagram post today: Analog is not an aesthetic or vibes or a trope. Nostalgia is grief. A coping mechanism. I find myself rewatching old favorites, crying when I listen to old music, searching for books set in the 80s and 90s and reaching for any media that feels GenX coded. I’m a 1976 Gemini turning 50 this year so this tracks. ☎️ the 80s & 90s are calling and I’m going back.
