Whilst I haven't read the previous books in this series I found you got enough glimpses to get an idea of what the other couples had been through. Kaye has gotten herself in a tangled mess with her boyfriend now ex and seeing Zeb ignites an attraction between then that they both try to deny especially as she is fresh from an awful break up.
When things escalate with Kaye and her ex to the point of physical harm and unknown further danger ahead Zeb and the Guardians work to keep her and the other ladies safe while they try to eliminate the threat.
You get undeniable attraction, steamy scenes, devastation, family by bond, danger and tension, heart stopping moments, some laughs, complex characters and the hope that love will prevail and the bad guys gets swift sharp karma.
