Off-Limits Billionaire Fiance'

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

I knew my ex-boyfriend’s brother was off-limits. Now I’m stuck pretending to be this damaged billionaire’s fake fiancée. Avoiding Christian Sanchester was so much simpler before I came back to Miami. Fake-dating the groom’s best man for a month without falling in love? Easiest bet I ever won. Or it would’ve been — if his mother hadn’t told everyone we’re engaged. Behind the scenes, his jealous outbursts have us at each other’s throats 24/7. Broad shoulders and a chiseled jaw can’t make up for his possessive streak, but I’d be kidding myself if I said he wasn’t . . . tantalizing. Now we’re trapped together in this lie until he finds a way to break the news to his family, but that’s not the worst part. The worst part is knowing it has to end. Off-Limits Billionaire Fiance' is a high-heat, enemies-to-lovers fake romance about a dominant alpha male who meets his match in his brother’s smart, sassy ex-girlfriend.

Honestly, if it weren't for the backstory given in this story, I don't think that I would have liked the characters very much. Their way of handling things instead of directly confronting people is silly and immature. Just tell them how you feel already - if you are angry, say so, and then let it go. Christian is angry with Alex for leaving his brother and causing him to spiral into depression. He decides that he's going to get revenge against her even though he hasn't really figured out what form that is going to take yet. Alex, on the other hand, enters into a bet with her friends to get Chrisian to like her and date her. The two of them end up as members of a wedding party for their friends and they agree to get along for the sake of the friends and somehow Alex tells him about the bet and he agrees to participate in that as well. The more time that they spend together the more they like each other; so much so that when Christian's brother shows back up, Christian's jealous that the two of them are getting along. Alex tries to explain to Christian why she couldn't be with his brother any longer, but he doesn't want to hear her explanation. There's a lot of angst and drama created by the characters in this story that seems unnecessary, but I guess that's what makes for a good story!
