I realized when I started reading this that it had been three years since I'd read the first book. Surprisingly, although I don't remember everything that happened in the first book, I didn't struggle picking up where we left off. I think the authors do a great job of sprinkling in bits from book one when you need it.
The four main characters are likable and believable. I like their ideas and their knowledge of how humans are using technology in the worst possible ways and how what we're doing is going to be the end of us all.
There is a huge plot twist at the end of this book (and a cliffhanger to boot) but to be fair, I had a fairly decent idea of what the plot twist was about 3/4 into the book. Though I didn't know exactly what or why. I do like the way it was used (and as I've started reading the 3rd book, it does make sense).
