The End and Other Beginnings: Stories from the Future

Veronica Roth

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

A collection of novella-length stories set in the future, illustrated with black-and-white artwork. No world is like the other. Within this collection, each setting is more strange and wonderful than the last, brimming with new technologies and beings. And yet, for all the advances in these futuristic lands, the people still must confront deeply human problems. With tales of friendship and revenge, plus two new stories from the Carve the Mark universe. Each story begins with a hope for a better end, but always end with a better understanding of the beginning.

    adventurous, slow paced

Mixed bag of short stories. The first couple are definitely better than the last two-- which were short stories set in the Chosen One's world. A perfectly fine to borrow from the library but I definitely wouldn't purchase it.

    Character driven
    Diverse cast of characters
