books that capture the whimsical charm of beloved studio ghibli films, while grounding you in the beauty and reality of the world around us. note: These books are not necessarily cozy, much like the films themselves are not always comforting.

Last year my slump hit me hard so here’s a collection of quick read to help you catch up or just town over the line in time!

It’s a mix but promise the all pack a punch! All <270 pages 🥳

Pregnancy and its horrors and/or joy. Motherhood and women's bodies. Motherhood and dystopia. Motherhood and horror. Motherhood and grief. Motherhood and happiness. Mothers and daughters. Daughters and mothers. Mothers and sons, sons and mothers. What say you.

Don’t be fooled by the page count, these novels still quite pack a punch and will leave a mark on you.

Can be read in a day or two (best served with your hot drink of choice 😌)
