Does true love exist or is it merely a fairytale for the lonely? I don’t think I’ll ever forgive my mother. She abandoned my father and I when I was little to play house with her new family. Now that he’s gone, she’s asking me to come down to a ranch in the middle of nowhere to make amends. Then she sends Duke West to pick me up from the airport. This cowboy is hot enough to convince me to stay on the ranch for a few days, but it won’t change anything. I’ll take a break and go right back to New York where I can forget any of this ever happened. Only... Duke is a man whose presence simply demands to be remembered. Ranch Escape is a series packed with action, high heat and lots of passion where love comes from an unexpected place and fights to grow stronger. Enjoy! This is Part 2 of Annie and Duke's story and you will definitely want to read Part 1 first. These stories are short so you should have no trouble getting caught up! Annie has been surprised by some information regarding her father. She believed that her mother willingly left her behind and started a new family with her father's old business partner. The family is true, but there was much more behind her mother leaving. At the end of book 1, Annie was leaving for the airport and had asked Duke to give her a ride and there was about to be a bad accident.
In Part 2, Annie and Duke get closer, even though neither of them can explain why they are so drawn together. Both of them are dealing with family issues. While Annie seems to be bonding with her family, Duke is experiencing upheaval with the health of his mother and the return of his brother. The one place that they seem to be doing well is when they are with each other. They are open about how they are feeling about each other and their situations. Talking it out seems to help each one of them, even if it's just sharing the burden.
There is a mild cliffhanger at the end of this story, like always, but don't let that deter you.
