She and I have been friends-with-benefits for awhile now, but I want more. Most people treat me like a celebrity, but with her I can truly be myself. She’s the only woman who’s ever been able to satisfy me, and I’m not willing to give that up. Her little girl has me wrapped around her finger, and I’m the missing link in their little family. And if it weren’t for my job, she’d be with me in a heart beat. The problem is, she doesn’t want the limelight that comes with dating a pro athlete. She thinks she’s protecting her daughter, but I know she’s being stubborn. Proving myself will be my toughest play yet. *** Next Door Player is a standalone football sports romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a HEA!

Daria and Caden have a friends with benefits relationship. He wants them to be more, but she's wary because he is a professional athlete and she wants to protect herself and her daughter. He understands why she wants to keep them a secret, but he also thinks that he can prove to her that he loves her and they should be a couple. She asks him to do her a favor and when he declines, she's hurt and decides that they shouldn't be together. His dad is able to help them and they get back together. The more time that they spend together, the more certain Caden becomes that they should be a real couple.

This book is really low angst with a slow burn to the ultimate conclusion. It was the perfect read!
