He can't leave the room. Her room. And it's all the Order's fault. Confined to a small space with only the Mudblood for company, something's going to give. Maybe his sanity. Maybe not. "There," she spat. "Now your Blood's filthy too!" DM/HG. PostHBP. Post Half-Blood Prince. Ron and Harry are Horcrux hunting and Hermione has been left at Hogwarts to help the Order make it safe for the other students. Draco is forced by Snape to stay in Hogwarts for his own protection, but he can't leave the room he is given; Granger's room. Hermione is the only student trusted with this information, so she and Malfoy share the small space, and Draco tries to avoid insanity as he becomes increasingly isolated with only the Mudblood for company. Something's going to give... Mature content and themes, and explicit language. Starting down the slippery slope into the underworld of fanfiction!

Well, I saw a collection of "The Best FF" and decided to give this one a whirl. I thought I really wouldn't like the Dramione, but I did!
I think the author did a great job with realistic conversations and insults, the slow warming up to each other, the buildup of feelings and conflict. I thought that also well done was the mood of the book and it felt so intense to have Hermione be experiencing the war around her.
Also, the sexy scenes were quite steamy and classy, real heat!
I thought Hermione's character was quite true to cannon in personality and her actions felt consistent. I also liked Draco's portrayal--my memory of him from cannon was not so precise as Hermione's, so I was a bit more willing to allow his personality to be flexible. But I think the author did a fantastic job getting into his head and exploring his confusion and fears as well as his feelings.

Loved it, ship Dramione now (though not exclusively). Made me want to re-read the series. Made me go searching for more fanfiction, and I hope to read some more just as well written and crafted!

    re-read this fic November 2016
