Recs if you like The Librettist of Venice: The Remarkable Life of Lorenzo Da Ponte, Mozart's Poet, Casanova's Friend, and Italian Opera's Impresario in America...

Opera, orchestral works, and oratorios...this list delves deep into them.

Polymath Training Challenge is a non-fiction reading challenge that has been running on a Hungarian book site for the past 11 years. Each year it has 12 categories that participants have to pick their own nonfiction reads for (incl. memoirs and biographies). I have discovered several amazing nonfiction books through this challenge, so I decided to make a list of the best, and most mind-blowing, of them so far.

Since I already have a List for women, I wanted to make one for men's memoirs and (auto)biographies - specifically books I think are fascinating, little known, and need more attention. Some of these men might be role models, but that's not really the point: most just had interesting lives, or lived in interesting times. Suggestions welcome.
