Librarian Note: This is an alternate cover edition of ASIN: B006YBRF3O. The original cover edition can be found here. Ready Or Not Moira Dunne is a witch—the quantum physics kind. Time and space are her playthings. Which might explain why her one-night stand from a hundred years ago has turned up to "claim" her—and request her family's assistance with the war he's brewing. But the more she learns about Connlan Kayrs, the more she comes to think this is normal behavior for him… There's Nowhere To Hide When Conn and Moira tumbled on the moonlit grass, Conn hadn't meant to mark her as his mate for all time. She was only twenty! But it wasn't easy to wait for her. It was even harder to forget her. So when he finally returns for his wicked-hot witch, he's ready to let the sparks flying. Even if he burns up in flames…

    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Although the readers of this series know, and have even met, Moira, we haven’t gotten to know her in any real way. We know she’s a young witch who accidentally mated with Conn 100 years ago. We know she’s fated to be a powerful witch due to her being the seventh sister of the seventh sister. We know she’s very smart and hard working and resistant to being a vampire mate. In this book, we also learn she is so much more…she’s a badass!

Conn is a fierce warrior. He’s the Kayrs brother who leads the battles, who is known throughout the world to be the toughest and most formidable of not only the vampires, but of all creatures. He’s bullheaded and feels the need to protect and command those around him. That’s exactly why Moira has kept the fact that she is a protector of her own kind, a warrior in her own right, from her mate for the last few decades. There’s no hiding once the century Conn agreed to wait for her is over.

Moira and Conn have more than chemistry. With her being a witch and having a sway over molecules and matter, his vampire nature to take on traits of his mate have given him some of his own “magic”. That makes this pair a powerhouse never seen before. Now, if they can only learn to work together instead of trying to control each other.

While I understand the secrets Moira felt she had to keep, it got to be annoying at a certain point. Yes, Conn can be very controlling and macho, but it’s quite obvious he’d do anything to protect Moira. That includes not betraying her confidence if she were to let him in a bit more. Of course, for his part, Conn needs to learn to trust in Moira’s abilities and decision-making skills.

From the first chapter, this story is a non-stop roller coaster that kept me turning pages. I love this series and this author!
