I find myself fascinated with the country of North Korea, in terms of its history, its role in global politics, its cruel leaders, its reclusiveness. Here, you'll find non-fiction books I've read related to this blank space on the globe, in all of their horrible glory. These are not happy stories.

Non-fiction books about real dictatorships. Some of them are memoires and some others are history books and essays.

Books about communism, both fiction and non-fiction.
