Emotional Annihilation Toolkit
Are you currently not crying to the point of vomiting, but you want to be? Need to conduct a science experiment to find out if you are in fact the ugliest crier in all of Pagebound? Well, do I have the list for you! Brought to you by the fine, very sad, folks of Pagebound! These books have been frequently suggested or upvoted in PB club posts about sad books! Suggestions in any genre, and extra tissues, are welcome!

It's 2005 and you're at the Scholastic Book Fair
Books of the millennial reader's childhood (not just scholastic book fair). Sticking with chapter books, and not picture books :) All books pre-2005 Taking recs!

Bleakness Is My Weakness
For when you need to wallow in melancholy and misery: a collection of pessimistic, cynical, downbeat, depressing, doom and gloom fiction for my disillusioned friends.
More to come!
Got the holiday blues? Check out my list Christmas with the Cranks!

๐ Book to movie adaptations ๐ฅ
Books that were adapted into movies (not tv shows). Let's make this list as long as possible!
(going to only add the first book in a series)

Millennial Nostalgic Reads
Bring on those Gen Y memories! A list of books likely to give people born between 1981 and 1996 a lot of feelings.
This list is for those of us who grew up eagerly awaiting the Scholastic Book Fair, watching Reading Rainbow (or Wishbone!), and dreaming of a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.
Note: these are not books published in 1981-1996, but books that had a hold on the millennial generation.
Also check out the Dear America series, American Girl series & Royal Diaries series.

Classic Childrenโs Lit
Classic novels for your (inner) child, with some modern staples in the mix. For reading yourself, reading aloud to little ones, and for those learning to read. Suggestions welcome, as always!

Classics To Read to Your Kids!
As a parent of 2 boys, I want to introduce them to good literature as early as possible! This is my list of classics that are appropriate for kids to listen to (read them aloud or listen to the audiobook). Iโve left some off this list due to misogyny and racism I thought was unforgivable. But ALL these books were written by imperfect people in an imperfect world, there may be topics you may need to have deeper conversations with your kids. โค๏ธ

Assigned Reading (Primary/Middle School Edition)
The books your teacher made you read between the ages of 11-14. They changed the way you saw the world, they made you realize books were more than just goofy or sentimental stories you gobbled up before bedtime, and they stuck with you, all these years later.
Suggestions welcome, especially from non-American readers!!
Note: this list was made by a Millennial, so I'd love to hear from some different generations! What did your teachers assign you?

Tails & Tales
This list is for dog lovers who canโt resist a good story told through paws, loyalty, and unconditional love. From heartwarming adventures to emotional journeys, these novels remind us just how much dogs shape the stories we carry.
Dog books can be tearjerkers. Check if the dog dies first if youโd rather avoid surprises.

Book to Screen Pipeline
Books that have been made into TV shows or movies. It always amazed me how many there are.
As always feel free to recommend any I missed!

PBS's Great American Read
The list of 100 books/series, created during PBS Great American Read series (2018) in which the public voted on the most influential and important reads in America. All series are represented by their 1st book.

The Classics!
Looking for classics to add to your TBR? Then this list is for you! All the classics*, in one place. Not a specific genre, age group, author, just the beloved books that have been read for generations. *Not just 18th century classics either! I have also added more modern classics to fit every reader ๐. Feel free to comment your suggestions/thoughts ๐ซถ๐ผ๐ค.

Howโs that inner child doing?
Whether they are from our childhood, adulthood, or maybe bothโฆ these books are special and forever apart of our reading journey. Letโs take a second and read a book we never did as a child, or re-read the books that made us the reader we are today. Yay for healing our inner child!
