One year. That was how long it took to plan the wedding of my dreams, from the dress all the way down to the shoes. It wasn’t until the shoes went missing that I discovered the man I was supposed to marry in twenty-four hours wasn’t the man I thought he was. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go according to plan. That’s why my mom told me to always have a backup. So I called off the wedding and flew to Vegas with my girls. It was supposed to be a weekend getaway to nurse my broken heart. Waking up married to hot billionaire, Cooper Sullivan, was definitely not part of the plan. Disclaimer: Mr. Bad Influence is a 30.5 k word insta-love novella, and part of the More Than Money Billionaire Romance Collection. This was a novella with insta-love, so everything felt crammed in and done too quickly. I didn't care much for the writing style.
PROBLEMS:
-Parker: such a drama queen; why did she fake her way through the rehearsal--just for the dramatic speech and exit?? Why did she sleep with Cooper after 20 min? Why did she agree to have sex without condoms? Pro-baby with this stranger. EXCESSIVE name calling of the woman her fiance cheated with, even though Parker didn't really condemn or name-call the cheating fiance...?? Screaming obscenities at both of them and also slapping the woman... real classy...
-Cooper: horn dog with money; he liked her tits, so now he's in love with her. Super pro-baby with this stranger. Buying the house was both moving too fast and also he needed to talk it over with her...
Cooper bordered on controlling to a creepy level for me, Parker was annoying and trashy. Both were dumb and quick to judge and to jump to conclusions, both were "in love" way too fast. Having sex without condoms after knowing each other for like 2 hours = lose a star automatically.
(Multiple reviewers too umbrage with the realtor being Cooper's ex, but I didn't care at all, was ready for the book to be done by that point.)
summary: Parker finds out like the day before her wedding that her fiance is cheating on her (and in her bed, no less), and so Parker dramatically walks out during the wedding rehearsal dinner after making a declarative speech and she flies to Vegas with her girlfriends. There she meets, flirts with, and has sex multiple times with Cooper. They wake up married, and realize he owns the sports team the fiance is on, and the woman the fiance cheated with was also somehow an ex of Cooper's brother or something? Cooper and Parker decide to try out the relationship, they both "have to trust" the other and are both tested on this. There's a possible pregnancy that they both embrace. Parker slaps the woman her fiance was sleeping with and gets into a verbal altercation with her. Cooper buys them a huge mansion to live in.
