Chekov's Homophobia makes everything more difficult.
A really interesting twist on the concept of hollow earth and technological utopias. Just enough technobabble to feel sci-fi, but it still feels somewhat rooted in reality. It touches on a lot of actual scientific stuff, but doesn't rely on it too much.
First read this over a decade ago, and it still holds up as one of my favourites.
