Life is never black and white. One minute you’re a struggling graphic designer in LA that's finally coming to terms with being single forever, and the next you're flying to New York in a private jet to get engaged to your ex-boyfriend’s older brother. At least...that’s what everyone thinks. Forced to clean up his playboy image in order to protect his company, Beckham Sinclair, the city’s most eligible billionaire bachelor, wants me to be his fake fiancée and personal assistant. Now I'm spending every spare second with a man I thought I’d never see again. My freshly mended heart has barely recovered from the first time a Sinclair broke it. But with each passing day, Beck’s dirty mouth and lingering stares make me question his motives—and mine. As the line blurs between real and pretend, only one thing is certain: there are secrets hiding in this city full of black ties and white lies. Black Ties and White Lies is a billionaire, fake relationship, forced proximity, and ex's older brother novel and a complete standalone by Kat Singleton.

First things first… thank you Kat for getting me out of my reading slump. I appreciate you making this book as good as it is. ♥️

If you like fake dating, forced proximity, ex’s brother, boss/employee, only one bed, billionaire romance this one is something you’ll enjoy. Beck and Margo’s relationship is something else. They’ve had a connection in the past thanks to Beck’s brother who’s Margo’s ex. After Margo breaks up with him, Beck enlists her assistance to clean his image. He needs a fake fiancee so the board of his company wont threaten to replace him. He tells her she’ll be his new assistant and after a month they’ll tell the world that they fell in love and got married. After some debating Margo accepts but under one condition, they can’t kiss or lines will start to blur. So what happened? You guessed it, they kiss and lines blur and their relationship begins to look real. I won’t say more because I feel like I’ll spoil stuff. But you definitely have to read it to find out what happens.

If I liked so much, why did I give it 4 stars? Well that has to do with the last 25% of the book. They way Beck went about things didn’t sit well with me. I get it, it has ‘White Lies’ on the tittle but it was more about the scheming what left me unsettled. Additionally I feel like everything got resolved too easily. And finally, Beck is blonde. Not my perfect book boyfriend material. But thats personal preference.
