Recs if you like Be Right Back...

mystery and thriller books that are ya but perfect for adults

It's super hot outside and you're in the mood for summer slasher books and/or a lowkey mysterious fall vibe just like in the Gravity Falls summerween episode? Then this list is for YOU. 🙂‍↕️ Feel free to comment your own recs, I'll add those. 🫶🏻

Summer-what? Summerween! The people of this town love Halloween so much, they celebrate it twice a year!

Slasher Season, for me, runs from the beginning of Summer— when it’s just warm enough for a dip in the lake— through Fall, when the leaves turn brown again. If roasting marshmallows around a campfire is in season, so is reading about masked psychos terrorizing people. ❤️💀 (I’m sure this list will remain under construction for a while as I discover more to read and add)

A list of the YA books published in 2026. Please comment if any are missing.

Here are a few of my spooky girl books which still have that cozyness to them. Not the sort of books that keeps you up at night
