They say some stones are better left unturned. I’m learning that lesson the hard way. My name’s Aubry Brooks and here’s the thing—I have myself a coven problem. I found my mama’s book of shadows, and it's clear she didn’t share my magical philosophy of do no harm. She was hiding us from someone, but meeting her former coven only leads to more questions. When the Angel of Death’s scythe goes missing, I realize things aren’t what they seem. No worries, the Mystery Gang is on the case. For the record, my sexy half-Incubus boyfriend Damion Blackmon does not agree to our group nickname. The broody detective Chris Sullivan doesn’t agree to much of anything, but that's his problem, not mine. Pull up a chair and let’s work some kitchen magic. A word of warning—do not listen to Grandma’s nonsense about a love triangle, she’s delusional. Another word of warning—do not listen to Aunt Callie’s nonsense about a smoothie challenge, she’s sadistic. Welcome to the metaphysical shop Memphis Magic.

'Obsession' written by Andrea Hagan is the second installment in the Memphis Magic series. Aubry finds her mother's Book of Shadows, the Angel of Deaths scythe goes missing, and Aubry meets not only Damion's mother but his ex as well. There are hints of the darkness that her mother fled from and the mystery of who her father may be.
There is of course the mystery, and once again we have the mystery gang trying to solve the issue. I really enjoyed all of the books so far and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
Thank you to Andrea Hagan for an ARC in return for my honest review.
We are back with Aubry & Damien but things aren't smooth sailing just yet. A demon may just have some competition for Aubry's affection. I love that the second book explores more of her past, especially what happened to her mom and why her grandma won't say anything. Hagan does a great job of mixing comedic moments, tense situations, and the perfect amount of spice. I can't wait to see if there is more from all these characters, especially Detective Sullivan and other side characters.
