Oh my word, I've never yet been disappointed by a book by Sarah Crossan. We Come Apart is written in the same prose form as all Crossan's other books, though this time in collaboration with Brian Monaghan. It follows Nicu, a boy from Romania in London whilst his parents earn money for him to marry a girl back home. And Jess, a girl from London living with her mum and abusive step father. We follow their perspectives as their friendship blooms whilst they get to know eachother at a youth rehabilitation group they must both attend. In the gorgeous prose we truly see each of their perspectives and understand how each of them have come to be where they are. And let me tell you, part 3 shattered my heart. Definitely recommend this quick read.
