Books where the main character is going through it, (or has gone through it), and dammit they’re dealing with it as best they can. Romantasy, SFR mainly! But a few memoirs and litfic too. ❤️‍🩹 Always open to more suggestions ❤️‍🩹

Here's a list of dark romance books! It includes mafia romances, to, what I'd consider, just dark romance! It includes all books I've read (whether it's a dnf or a reread) and some that have been on my tbr for some time but seem good! Ps: I won't recommend books that portray themselves as dark romance in excuse to write/romanticise sexual violence or rape, that isn't dark romance, just authors that want an excuse to being weird.

Romance books were one of the mc (most often fmc) struggles with eating and the love interest helps. Some feature ED rep, others trauma, depression, etc. Often features the caretaking trope 🫂.

The heartbreak. The longing. The emotional punches I was not prepared for. These books didn’t just make me tear up; they stayed with me, lingering in that quiet space after the final chapter. Soft souls, proceed carefully.
