Recs if you like The Corpse Exhibition and Other Stories of Iraq...

SWANA authors are authors from South West Asia and North Africa. They currently make up <1% of the trad publishing industry. This list is here to introduce you to their stories.

NOTE: if you find an author who doesn’t belong on this list, please comment & I will remove the book(s) ASAP.

As always, lists are forever evolving🥰

writers exploring life under war or dictatorship often explore these themes through the image of the desecrated corpse or perverted burial rite. the dead body is front and centre in these works, mostly from writers in the global south.

Fiction books set in Iraq

A list to help those who aspire to read from authors outside the typical areas. I will be creating different list for different regions. I will also list the countries currently found in the list. Be sure to check out the other lists! Note: The countries are not perfect as some countries are classified differently, so I did my best.

Current Countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Turkey
