Murder, sex, and dressage: Heathers meets Black Beauty in this sparkling and unapologetic coming-of-age thriller. Kirsten runs the arena, as both daughter of the stable owner and center of the horse girl clique. Kirsten loves horses. Horses are powerful. Horses are dangerous. Horses know how to win. Horses have taught her more about growing up than anyone else, certainly more than her mother who has grown quieter and more useless since her new boyfriend Steen, her mom’s new boyfriend, moved in. Karina, Anita, and Wasp have always been her best friends. They are a tightly bound group that ride, share secrets, party, and shoplift together, but rifts are beginning to form. Their haircuts no longer match. They are fighting over boys and horses. And they aren’t really sure about Kirsten’s increasingly bizarre plot to murder Steen. Kristen’s Revenge is an electric new novel by Bjorn Rassmussen, former horse girl and internationally acclaimed poet and novelist, about the unbridled violence of girlhood.
