Dirty Little Midlife Disaster (Heart’s Cove Hotties, #4)

Sizzling-hot and seriously funny. Who said your forties couldn’t be both? Katrina Viceroy is a recently divorced mother of two, and the proud new owner of a flat tire… until leather-clad motorcycle hottie, Mac Blair, arrives to save the day. Mac is the exact opposite of Trina’s ex-husband. He’s got bad boy etched into every line of his muscular body, for one. Not to mention that gravelly, deep voice he uses to order her around. Things like, “Swing that pretty leg over my bike,” and, “Hold on tight,” and, “Here’s my number; call me.” When he’s got her frazzled and panting, Mac just...rides off. Honestly, the nerve! Apropos nothing, does anyone have a phone she can borrow? The old Trina would have ignored the phone number burning a hole in her pocket, but the new and improved (read: divorced) Trina? She’s calling. Even if it ends up being a total disaster. Spoiler alert: it most certainly does.

Sometimes, if you’ve read 1 book in a series, you’ve read them all. They’re essentially the same deal with different ‘names & faces’, right?

At least in my experience—as someone who reads everything, this is not unique to this genre at all but definitely feels more prevalent to me. It is absolutely not the case with Lilian Monroe and she, as a result, has multiple series I can’t get enough of.

Take this one, for example,”Heart’s Cove Hotties”. Each book absolutely does feature a different couple and their respective challenges, lives, etc. but it also keeps us up to speed on all the characters we’ve met thus far, while introducing or showing us more of others. So, I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty invested now. (As I am in a couple of her others series. If you’re looking for recs, I recommend her “Manhattan Billionaires” series, as well as “Royally Unexpected”, “Knocked Up”, and “Clarke Brothers”.)

This one has a bit of extra fun, due to a very nasty, verbally abusive ex. I sort of loved hating him and waiting for him to be put in his place.

Oh and this town! I absolutely love the way they all sort of look out for each other—WHERE can I live that’s like this?!? If I can’t actually move to this town, I’d better do the next-best thing: start the next book!

    4 stars for this one.
