The only queer & GNC lists/quests I’ve seen have been genre. I love them, but I wanted to also curate a list of literary fiction with LGBTQIA+ characters and themes!

Some classic, popular, and lesser-known books about the lives and relationships of men who love men. Recommendations welcome---I'm specifically in search of more books centering trans men! [Created Sep '25]

Focused on stories with beautiful prose, depth, and explore the intricate realities of the LGBTQ+ experience. Sub-genres could range from historical, contemporary, science fiction, magical realism, and classics (even romance!).

I just finished who will be remembered here and am now keen to try out other works of the writers who collaborated. Thought I’d make a list in case someone else is interested :)

This list will showcase the vast amount of Scottish Literature available, from the late medieval period to the present day. Partly inspired by there only being a few Scottish books on the 'British Classics' quest. Alba gu bràth!
