Recs if you like Young Mungo...

a collection of autistic coded characters in fiction [ recommendations welcome! ]

All of the books that I will be trying to read to complete my pigeon personal curriculum :)

The only queer & GNC lists/quests I’ve seen have been genre. I love them, but I wanted to also curate a list of literary fiction with LGBTQIA+ characters and themes!

Some classic, popular, and lesser-known books about the lives and relationships of men who love men. Recommendations welcome---I'm specifically in search of more books centering trans men! [Created Sep '25]

Focused on stories with beautiful prose, depth, and explore the intricate realities of the LGBTQ+ experience. Sub-genres could range from historical, contemporary, science fiction, magical realism, and classics (even romance!).

I will continue to update this, so comment if you have more!

reading diversely is not a trend. it’s the bare minimum. and if your shelves don’t reflect that, you’re missing out.

bildungsroman if ya nasty

Books by queer Scottish writers.

I just finished who will be remembered here and am now keen to try out other works of the writers who collaborated. Thought I’d make a list in case someone else is interested :)

Suggestions for anything queer and Scottish are welcome, as are comments if you see something on the list you think doesn’t fit. I’m not Scottish and have read exactly none of these books, so I am obviously not the leading authority on anything.

a list of the books that are in 2 quests

Books by Scottish authors, across genres. (Will not be including any JKR.) Dark crime, litfic, a bit of satire, fantasy, scifi & speculative fiction. Trying to include a mix of everything in here.

Recommendations welcome. 🫶

pain, pain and more pain, but make it queer.

I will continue to update this, so feel free to add more suggestions

Stories by Scottish authors/about Scotland- complied for you by a central belt lassie

some lit and horror where the cover has an obscured face ! what are they hiding !

Sad queer books. Beware of tears. Inspired by the Tragic Love: Queer Edition Quest. Middle grade, teen, and adult books

weird gay shit, lots of genre and gender bending, probably no fantasy

Books written by Scottish authors/set in Scotland

This list will showcase the vast amount of Scottish Literature available, from the late medieval period to the present day. Partly inspired by there only being a few Scottish books on the 'British Classics' quest. Alba gu bràth!

(This is not exhaustive! Just 100 or so books that vaguely trace the development of Scottish Literature.)

Would love more recommendations!
