This is the first book in the Murdoch Mafia series and introduces us to a cast of characters and an intriguing story. The FMC in this story is named Kiera and she has a past filled with hurt and disappointment. She was raised by a single mother who worked as a housekeeper for the Murdochs. Kiera would often accompany her and was almost treated as another one of the children. This book focuses mainly on the MMC, Bishop, who is taking over as leader of the family after the death of his father, Tony. Tony was not a good man and most definitely did not treat Kiera well.
In taking over the family, Bishop has also decided that he and Kiera are to be married, even though he is older than her and he basically just told her that he is what they are going to do. Kiera does do a fair bit of fighting back against his possessive alpha nature, but she also secretly likes that protectiveness that he shows her too.
0Played by the Bishop, the first book in the Murdoch Mafia series by Samantha Barrett and is also the first book for me and I definitely enjoyed it! Although Kiara did annoy me a lot, but these men ooff. I definitely was hooked right in. I have read a lot of mafia books and this one is a good one. Can’t wait to see what’s next and if Kiara will still annoy me. I gave it 4 stars because how annoyed I was with Kiara. But that ending though!
