If you like a smart FMC, orcs, and spice then this is the romantasy book for you.
Ice Queen Adalind must finish the war her cruel, foolish, and now dead husband started with the orcs - by surrendering and marrying their king. She doesn’t expect him to love her or to love him in return. Can they find peace in each other?
What a beginning to this series! I started with War Maiden originally and loved it, but I’m so glad I went back and read the series from the start. Both the MCs are broken in their own ways, and watching them work through personal and political problems alike was enjoyable. There is plenty of open door spice, and sweet vulnerable moments as well.
I love this series! I do recommend starting with this one, even though the books can all be read as a standalone.
