It had been awhile since I'd read volume 4 so I struggled a little bit with this one at first since the story centers on a few of the side characters from volume 4. A young woman named Barbie is living in an apartment with some very colorful characters when creatures from her dreams start to show up in real life in New York City. A strange villain named the Cuckoo begins to send creatures after Barbie and she must go into her dreams to find out what's happening. I liked the story but what made me really like this one was what Gaiman says about dreams and imagination. I love the idea that everyone, no matter how dull or weird they may appear, has created fantasy dream worlds of their own. Definitely a good addition to a series that is already one of my favorites.
