Despite the fact that Amber is engaged to her college sweetheart, a flirtation begins to grow between them. One night, fueled by alcohol and concerns about whether she’s getting married too young, Amber kisses Tyler. What happens next will change them forever. In alternating points of view, It Happens All the Time examines the complexity of sexual dynamics between men and women and offers an incisive exploration of gender roles, expectations, and the ever-timely issue of consent.

This book was a hard read, but an important read. Thought-provoking, unnerving, and real.

Amber has her struggles, an eating disorder and immense pressure from her family as their "miracle child" to name a few. But she has a loving family and a best friend, Tyler, who is more like a big brother. Until one night changes everything she's ever known about her best friend. That night, she lost more than a best friend, she lost part of her identity with a lifelong of memories, filled with the man who became her rapist, suddenly becoming tainted.

I've read several novels that tackles the issue of rape, but I've yet to read one that tackles it from both sides. This book will remind you that everything can change in an instant. The people you know and love can sometimes be capable of anything. And "nice guys" aren't always what they seem.
