Another wonderful addition to Melissa Foster’s Love in Bloom family. For some reason this particular offshoot of the series is not numbered in the way the rest are, but I know it’s the second in this offshoot series. I really loved the first book, Bayside Desires. I enjoyed this one, too. It was just a bit harder for me to get lost in…probably more to do with what’s going on in my real life than the book itself. I’m in middle of some major stuff over here and have barely had time to read. Plus, I’ve fallen into bed early actually too tired to get more than a chapter or two in each night.
Regardless of my own personal issues right now, I couldn’t help but swoon over Dean. Oh my, he is a charmer. He’s definitely an alpha male, but somehow comes across as sweet while he’s being bossy. Plus, he seems to know when to back off to give Emery room to breath and regroup when needed.
Emery is so much fun. I love that she found a way to make a living doing what she loves, even if that isn’t what most people would consider a “tradition” career. She never wavers in knowing she is helping people and doing the right thing for herself and those around her. I love that confidence in her abilities. She has other insecurities, but when it comes to her choice in career she is all confidence and take-charge.
I mentioned earlier that I had trouble getting lost in this story. I truly do think it was more of my personal situation. I love the setting, the people, and the story. I’m so beyond ready for Drake and Serena to get their story and their HEA, so I’m glad they’ll be next in this series. These books always make me wish I had the time and money to book a Cape Cod vacation…or just up and move there!
