Marilyn Monroe's Personal Library
Marilyn Monroe was known as an avid reader with a deep love of literature. She took literature courses at UCLA, married a playwright, and was (in?)famously photographed reading Ulysses in a park. It's said that her divorce to Arthur Miller stemmed from an incident in which he insulted her intelligence. Supposedly, she amassed a 1000+ book collection at the height of her reading that she was very proud of. Here are the books known to be a part of her beloved personal library.

No one knows how to be alive
A collection of books about people who are lost inside themselves. Alienated, detached, depressed, searching, unraveling or simply trying to figure out what the hell it means to be alive.
Between Courses: Single Encounter Novels
Books where an entire narrative unfolds within a single, time-bounded encounter between people, forcing all revelation and complexity into one sustained conversation, meal, or 24 hour period.
Fall From Grace
Stories featuring characters who were on top of the world and lost it all (either as the premise or over the course of the story). Something about characters who were raised on a pedestal but threw it all away tickles my brain in exactly the right way, especially if their downfall is entirely their own fault. Partially inspired by Taylor Swift’s song Castles Crumbling. Suggestions for books and better emojis welcome!
