As a sapphic who can’t stand about 90% of MMCs in straight romances, and can’t stand Straight Nonsense™️ in general, finding a heterosexual romance book that not only I like, but has me swooning, is rare as heck, so I decided to document the ones that have cleared this high bar. 💀 Think: summer camp slashers, cults, sweaty obsession, monster boyfriends, demon bargains, serial-killer romance, haunted lust, cursed vacations, blood under porch lights.

🧡 These recommendations range from zero romance and spice to scorching summerween smut.

🔞 Big warning label: a lot of these are very adult, dark, taboo, kinky, violent, or horror-heavy. Definitely check trigger warnings before diving in.
