“Freedom should never be for one person alone.”
This book gets off to an addicting, fascinating start and gives a perfect explanation for how misunderstood villains are born.
Johns has proven to have epic world-building skills, this is a dark, fascinating world I think I could enjoy getting lost in over and over again. Despite the dark nature of the world, I did laugh out loud many times and real feels came through at times.
There are also quote-worthy reads that prompt thought.
Overall, this is a fun read and I plan to continue on in the series and explore more from this author—I’m officially a fan.

Perfect. Pleasant voices, appropriate tones, talented actors, couldn’t ask for more here.
Crush
After reading book 1, I became an instant Johns fan and now need to read as much of hers as possible—she’s a great writer and world-builder.
Book 2 does spend a bit of time recapping some of the major events from book 1, but I recommend reading both as book 1 was an epic experience. There is a lot to love about this series:
