The character and world-building in this dark fantasy of gods and magic was perfect. There was character growth/change. Some relationships were formed, broken, and then rebuilt over and over while others were shattered into a million tiny pieces.
Confidence seems to be a main theme in this book. In yourself and your abilities, & in others to be there for you no matter what. The MC lacks that for a while, but comes into her own and fights for what she believes is the right thing to do, even if it kills her
