The Dark Tower universe is so vast that stephen king ended up linking more than 30 of his works in this universe. Most of those connections were peripheral or not really necessary for understanding and enjoying the main dark tower series. While reading just the 7 main books is good enough, there are some other SK books which when read together with the dark tower, enhances the experience! This is that list. I have already made an extended list with all the peripheral links. You can check it out later!

Here is my recommended reading order. As I donât like to take very long breaks between the tower books if it can be helped, you can follow this: > The Stand (please make sure to read the complete and uncut edition of this book) > âSalemâs Lot > The Gunslinger (I usually recommend the revised edition, but if you wanna read both the revised and the original you can do it too) > The Drawing of the Three > The Waste Lands > Wizard and Glass > Insomnia (while it is a great story and the Tower tie-ins are very strong, many people struggle with the book. If you wanna skip then its fine, but I hope you give it a go) > Wolves of the Calla > Song of Susannah > The Dark Tower > The Wind Through The Keyhole (while chronologically it is a 4.5 book, reading in the publication order for this makes more sense.)
