Criteria: Female main character, gratuitous use of internal monologue, MC is (internally) big-hearted but also a little 'too' weird/awkward/driven/goin' through it, fantasy/scifi/horror.
The books that originally inspired this list are; A Deadly Education, City of Nightmares, and Skyward.
I recommend The Poppy War by RF Kuang if you’re wanting a FMC who goes nothing but through it
