i've been on netgalley for a little over a year now and just calculated what my average rating for the books I've read on there is and it's 3.25 stars. I was surprised by how low it is, but a lot of books I've read this year I really ended up disliking and then forcing myself through them (although I have dnf'd a couple).

For other NetGalley users, do you know what your average rating is? How do you try and make sure that you're (mostly) requesting books you'll enjoy? I feel like I've become overly cautious now with requesting, although I still want to try and use the platform to explore new authors and works
