I think maybe I’m a little confused about the whole premise to the book. Right now she’s having her “expedited” hearing with the two agents. But, what’s the point of “retaining” people you think are going to commit crimes at all, if you’re not going to address whatever you think is driving them to commit the crime? Sarah, for example. They haven’t been giving her therapy sessions to talk through her issues with her husband, or whatever. All they’ve been doing is putting MORE stress on her, and their marriage. The retention, I would contend, is going to make her more likely to commit a crime than less. Unless they’re retained forever, retention does nothing to actually prevent the possible crime, only postpones it. So, what’s the point?
