This mini bus fight is goofy. I was really enjoying the premise and the plot, wasn't even complaining about the excruciating detail of administration life at a school. But I'm a little over halfway and still getting lectures from Walden in the form of this very long conversation between her and the Phoenix in the middle of a fight with a demon bus, explaining in even more detail how to teach magic to kids.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I feel like it's grinding the pacing to an absolute halt. My eyes literally started glossing over the words and I had to go back to reread. Is this damn school bus a threat? Or do we have time to chit chat about pedagogy?

edit: I did power through and it did get better!
